Event: Saturday, February 3, at 6 pm, located at "Our Centre", Grande-Digue, New Brunswick, is the "Alexandre Parks Foundation Gala Dinner" event. Proceeds from this event go towards scholarships that facilitate research on diseases (such as autoimmune diseases, breast cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, and autoimmune enteropathy). The foundation commits to advancing local education & empowers Ph.D. students to play a vital role in driving forward local medical research. (Information as per their website. See more at www.AlexandreParks.com ).
During this event, a silent art auction will be held as part of the fundraising for the charity.
Art from local artists is being donated to the cause and some artists will be on-site for the event to talk about their art.
Sharon Bourque, Maritime artist, has donated her acrylic painting, "Ride It Out", to be auctioned at this event. She will also be attending the event.

Concept of painting:Â Â
"This was the main painting I did to express how I felt during the pandemic that started in 2020. The ship is well equipped, like our homes, but the moment we ventured out, no matter which direction we turned, there was risk and uncertainty. There was real danger. (I lost a friend to covid). The ship has its front pointing up and out, riding out of the storm (not being pulled down into it).  It's called "Ride It Out", with a determination to keep moving forward, come what may.
A copy of a greeting card with this art print on it is also included with the original painting.
The printed art greeting card that Sharon produced to sell to the public with this art print on it, has a message in it:
Â
"When life feels most chaotic,
hold tight & set your sights forward.
Maintain your efforts
to steady your course
& Ride that storm out."
Sharon feels this painting is well suited (in its intention to encourage people to press forward, even when life-challenging events occur) for this event. The foundation that will benefit from the auction proceeds supports driving forward local medical research, to bring hope. Sharon is honoured to be involved in this event, and lends support through donating her acrylic painting, "Ride It Out" for the silent auction.
