Listing for online gallery purposes, these are other special trawl floats hand-crafted in hemp line by Moncton artist, Sharon Bourque.
Crafted knotwork done in Moncton, New Brunswick, but vintage glass balls may have originated from international sources before finding their way to Canada, over the years.
**The art being represented here is the knotwork hand-crafted in Canada. Knots are the art of a sailor. Netting knots and Turks head decorative knots are featured in these pieces.

Note: A few 12 inch, vintage, green glass fishing floats were also recently acquired and pending netting. These were originally used on "tuna long lines". Images will post to the gallery as the hand-crafted knotwork is completed.
Vintage green glass, marked "Made in England". Its crafted netting is in tarred marline from Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. (Netted by Moncton artist, Sharon Bourque, in August 2021). Glass makers mark "FGC" is Foresters Glass Company Ltd., of St.Helens, Lancashire, England.
(Company made fishing floats, Circa. 1902-1966.)
Forsters was acquired in 1966 by Rockware Glass, and Rockware eventually became part of Ardagh Glass in 2006. This mark is frequently seen on fishing net floats.
